I can’t believe it’s already New Years Eve! This year has been such an incredible year for me (and will be VERY hard to top!) however, I can already tell 2013 is also going to be amazing. I have so many BIG resolutions and goals and I am so ready to start a new year. I’ve been very blessed over the past year and I have something awesome I made which I’ll share soon…but here’s a little recap of the past few weeks and lots of sparkle to kick off this New Years Eve.
Happy (almost) 2013!
My new rings (a New Year’s gift to myself), a bottle of Dom from my parent’s wedding anniversary in 1976), Mini Champagne bottles from my girls Christmas party, Balloons at OYA and Pomegranate Martinis I made. Cheers!
On Wednesday, I had a group of girlfriends over to have Cocktails, Champagne and to celebrate the Holidays before everyone starts their travels. My sister was in town (thank God because she was such a big help) which made it extra fun.
I’m so lucky to have such wonderful girlfriends in my life- they truly are incredible. Here’s a look at some of the party! Happy Holidays!
Here’s the Invite that I made and sent out (I have a hobby in making easy PDF files)
Mini Champagne Bottles with fun straws, Peppermint plate (so easy to do!), Candy Cane Roses, and Homemade Irish Cream (thanks to the help of my wonderful sister…and our family friend’s secret recipe!)
All of the girls at my apartment, our cute table, Mini Strawberry Santas (NOT an easy task), Goat Cheese Santa, and my wonderful co-host (my sister!)
This weekend I went to Miami with four girlfriends. My best friend Stephanie, from college, lives in Chicago so we don’t get to see each other that often. When she invited me along to her Florida trip, I was so excited! I haven’t been to Miami since I was 21 and I think I quickly became addicted.
There are few things more fun than weekends away with the girls. I love getting ready together, meeting new people, going to clubs, and getting to catch up. And sleepovers never get old, no matter what age you are! Here’s a look at my trip to Florida:
Dinner at Nobu in Miami, and Hyde Beach at SLS with Stephanie, Amanda, Colleen and Nicole.
Making new friends at Wall (I love W Hotels so I had to check out the one in South Beach), some tequila shots to start the night (me ordering tequila is very rare but I was on vacation!) and outside of Shore Club.
Our day at the beach included Amanda’s Packers obsession, a trip to Ben and Jerrys when my sister got in to town, and a relaxing day at the pool!
I know I’m a week behind but a few weeks ago, my little brother Grant came to visit me in DC. He had never been to DC before so it was extra special for both of us. We also have another brother and a sister so we rarely get to spend time just the two of us when I go home.
Grant and I are so similar in so many ways, so I love getting to catch up with him (he’s also 18 and will be in college next year so I know my days are numbered where he’ll choose to visit me rather than go somewhere with his friends!) The weekend went way too quickly but we luckily packed as much in as we could in two days. Here’s a look at Grant’s weekend in DC:
The White House gingerbread house, Grant and I at the White House on our tour, a view from POV at the National Monument, and the two of us after our Flight Simulator Ride at the Air and Space Museum
Just “Monkeying around” at the Museum of Natural History, our visit to the American History Museum, and the house where Lincoln died (and some of the 15,000+ books written about Lincoln). Also “Kilroy was here” written by someone in a letter at the Air and Space Museum (which made me very happy!)
Last weekend I went back home to Indianapolis for Thanksgiving. I’m always excited to go home and get away for a few days, but for some reason (likely the stress of work with so many events lately) I was wayyy more excited about this trip! I even started a countdown of days and my mom and sister both thought something was seriously wrong.
I thought the five day trip would be long enough but it went too quickly (we went to Dayton for a few of the days so maybe that’s why) but it was so great to see friends, family and get to spend some time back at home.
I also started a new project (called Project 365 where you take a photo a day!) It’s been so fun and I’ll definitely share some of that soon.
Here’s a look at some of the highlights:
Got to spend time with High School friends, College Friends, and some of my best girl friends! (Out to Broad Ripple of course) — And finally made it to Kilroy’s (for breadsticks of course)
Lots of time to catch up with my brothers, sister and mom. I seriously have the best family ever…I am so lucky!
On Sunday, I went to the Colts game with my whole family. We had so much fun (as you can see by my little brother and I jumping with excitement!)
